This censer of squat bellied form with twin loop handles is cast with a heavy gauge and has areas with traces of thick gilding. Bearing cast Xuande four character seal mark to the base, Ming mark and period. The circular stand on three ornamental supports with three sectioned effect cast wavy decoration.

There are many later versions of this censer made, but most of them up till the 21st century have been of much lower quality casting and finishing, please refer to some other examples on the market but if you examine the quality of the casting close up and the proportions you will see a sizable difference.
