An antique large and impressive Chinese'Buddhist Jar' decorated in an intense green glaze falling short of the foot. The sides have applied Buddhist symbols and incised foliations giving a highly decorative effect.

The cover with simple round finial has a ribbed appearance. The interior of the piece and base are un-glazed. This type of jar was made in the Song / Yuan dynasties and this is probably from that time.

Impressive and rare collector's piece. If you require further images to examine at high resolution please message. Condition: Good and typical of it's type for age. Glaze flakes and chips about the piece. The cover has a small section with old repair.
