A Chinese export silver oval-shaped teapot with all-over engraving; includes six varying decorative panels that have alternating repousse worked scenes and auspicious flower motives.

Each decorative panel is unique; Panel: 1. Nature scene with wood creatures including a deer and two birds; 3. Nature scene with several birds in front of plants; 4. An Imperial scene with an Emperor surrounded by his servants. Above the scene is a coat of arms with previous owner's initials engraved; 6.

The handle is decorated with a bamboo motif and includes ivory insulators. The spout is decorated with a floral motif at the base; the knob is decorated with a combination of bamboo (used for the handle) and the same floral motif (used for the spout) tying in the entire decorative motif nicely. The base is Hallmarked Chinese silver (90 for 900+ standard). Measurements: Dimensions of the body, not including the spout, handle and knob: Height: 10.7 cm; Width: 11.6; Depth (of base):9.5 cm.

Measurements of the object from farthest edge of handle to opening of spout is approximately 21 cms. Length of teapot from top of knob to base is approximately 14 cms. Weight: 498 grams Item is in very fine condition; wax from previous cleaning of item is present in several places, but can be easily brushed off.
