Beautiful Vintage Asian Oriental Chinese Hand Carved Precious Stone & Painted Decoration Black Lacquer Scenic Four Panel Room Divider. This stunning room divider probably dates to the early 1900's or even earlier. I do not know the exact age.

This screen does display a great amount of detail and workmanship. There are 4 panels total that measure 72" tall by 16" wide each! So basically the entire screen is 6' tall by approximately 5' wide. Each panel has some type of carved precious stones, jade or coral? All of these objects are raised.

I have no way to actually identify what the elements are - please see all pictures to make your own judgement. The figures are extremely detailed. Some are painted and some appear to be natural. There is also some decoration that is just painted.

On the opposite side is another set of decoration that is simply painted on. There is no way that I can provide all the details that I really wanted to.

Please request more photos, if you would like additional pictures. This screen is quite old and does show age. There are cracks in the black lacquer finish that can be seen in the photos. The edges are not perfect and may show some dings or scratches.

The brass plates on the feet are also tarnished, green at spots. Some of the hinges have been replaced. Certainly you can expect some of the paint to have minor losses.

There is one flying bird that appears to be cracked. The black lacquer finish shows some discoloration, scratches or minor dings and probably could stand to be polished. I believe the panels are solid wood. The entire screen is quite heavy. This screen overall displays well.
