Antique Chinese Horseshoe Chair Hongmu Hardwood Bat Splat Furniture Qing 19th C

  
Please note, local pick-up only. A very nice Chinese Ming style horseshoe chair. Probably late 19th Century, Qing dynasty. A heavy and hard wood, I believe it to be Hongmu.

I can not confirm the wood for sure. Back splat carved with a bat, clouds and tassels. Seat has an added strip of wood due to shrinkage, some touch up stain here. All the joints are through mortise and tenon. The back crest rail sweeps all the way down including the arms.

It does have some minor repairs including the rail and the top/bottom of splat. These repairs could be cleaned up to look nicer. Overall good condition with wear and condition issues expected with age. Measures about 41" tallest X 23 1/4" wide X 17 3/4 deep. Very heavy for the size.
