FINE Chinese Lacquered Wood & Mother-of-Pearl Four-Panel Screen Abalone. For your consideration is a gorgeous four-panel tabletop screen, made of black-lacquered wood. Mother-of-pearl compositions on each panel, with birds on blooming flower branches as a repeating motif. On the other side are four stylized foliate panels, hand painted with gold and four-character inscriptions on each - bamboo, chrysanthemum, miscanthus silvergrass and a blooming tree branch.

All fold together as pictured. Chinese in origin, first half/mid 20th century. PLEASE SCROLL DOWN THE PAGE FOR MORE PHOTOS! 18" x 14" overall, when folded out.

Each panel is about 14" x 4.5". Missing some petals on the flower of panel number three (left to right). Minor speck of missing lacquer on the back of the second panel (left to right).
