About the item: Fine quality large early 19 th century Chinese blue and white ginger jar , c 1820. The jar is beautifully and delicately hand painted and depicts a lovely rural lakeside or harbour scene with mountains in the backdrop and someone fishing etc.

The colour is still nice and crisp and the composition of the scene is very good. It has aged beautifully, and is in good condition commensurate with age and use. I have travelled extensively throughout Africa, Asia, India, North America and much of my collection has been sourced in the Country of origin.
