Antique Qing Dynasty or republic period Kingfisher feather Tian-tsui Chinese coral pendant in the knitted string. This pendant was made by laying kingfisher bird feathers on silver metal. The technique and the beautiful blue fluorescent feathers were highly prized and sought after in 19th century China.

It is called called tian-tsui, because it means dotting with kingfishers and involves adhering the feathers onto metal. After Chinese Revolution in the 1940s these technique was no longer in use.
