Big 16th-17th century Ming Chinese Bronze Censer w. Arabic Script & Xuande Mark. This is part of a nice collection of mostly Asian Antiques. Very Rare 16th-17th century Ming Chinese Bronze Censer with an Arabic Inscription and a six-character Xuande Mark on its Base. It is very heavy and weighs almost 3 kilograms at 2,980 grams.
This censer retains its original exquisitely carved Huanghuali wooden cover and stand. The cover has a beautiful white jade Lotus seed pod and leaf on a curling stem for a finial. This heavy bronze censer alone weighs 6.57 pounds (2.980 Kilograms) and measures approximately 9.75 inches (24.5 cm) wide across the Handles. The censer is circa 3.75 inches (9.5 cm) High alone and approximately 10.5 inches (26.5 cm) high including the wooden stand and cover with Jade finial. This beautiful censer is in Excellent condition.
It shows only the appropriate wear for its age. The wonderful wooden Cover and Stand are both in excellent condition but the Jade finial is a later replacement.
