Chinese Bamboo Landscape Brushpot, Qing dynasty Ex. An impressive brushpot of cylindrical form, with hardwood rim and base footed on three legs. Exterior is carved in varying relief with a continuous figural landscape rendered with rural. Arboured with large overhanging pine. And rocky promontories covered by cloud-forms; including scenes of pavilions and cranes in flight.

The wood displays a handsome patina of rich brown, with an attractive grain running throughout. Remnants of original scholars ink remain within the interior. (W)15.3 x (H)17.5cm.
