CHINESE EXPORT SILVER BOX CARD CASE c1885 TWENTY-TWO FIGURES. An unusually large and fine, late 19th century Chinese export silver card case. One of several we are offering from our 45 year CES collection. In unique rolling edge rectangular form with hinged cover. Cover with richly detailed of Chinese woman seated in garden, while viewing. Robes and silk, while workers offer refreshment. Above, two figures at game table as attendant organizes tea. Opposite side, Chinese man seated with fan, within elaborate. Gazebo, along railing and under pine trees, watching ceremonial dancer, with attendants. Above elder reclining in garden receiving two guests. Background in rich stippled surfaces. Streaming leaf engraved along the edges. Retains much original detail, including most all of the facial detail. The very fine and rare late 19h century Chinese export silver. Twenty-two figure card case is quite large at 4 1/2 by 3 inches. And weighs a touch over 2 1/2 standard ounces.
