CHINESE EXPORT SILVER DRAGON DESK SET INK STAND c1900 SIGNED A fine and rare late 19th century Chinese export silver dragon head desk set. Signed for the Hong Kong shop of Wing On (See Chan, 2005). A similar example from Tuck Chang, page 61 Chan (2005), from S&J Stodel, London Silver Vaults, published Arts Asia Vol 33, 2003. Shaped footed rectangular base with pen well and hand engraved Chinese dragons in flames. Retains both leaded glass wells with their original silver hinged covers.

Boldly cast dragon head with long spread horns, rising from its repoussed and hand chased body formed from one of the earlier noted engraved dragons. And both original glass ink wells.

Some stubborn tarnish along edges as shown. Hallmarked WO and two sets Chinese characters. This rare late 19th century Chinese export silver dragon desk. Set is 6 3/4 inches wide 5 tall and the silver alone.
