ENGLISH STERLING TEAPOT 1818 JOSEPH ANGELL - CHINESE. A very fine and rare 1818 British sterling silver teapot in the Chinese manner. Classic inverted pear form with leaf and flower rim, scalloped base, accented by partial shell. Bird of prey peers down a upon shield with cherub holding leaves.

Opposite shield with reclining cherubs enjoying grapes. Shields united by leaf and floral on satin background. Cover retains the original reclining Mandarin in hat and long robe holding jug looking skyward.

Leaf cap spout rising from cavorting cherub mount. Growling wolf's head crowns the rolled leaf cap double scroll handle. This 1818 British sterling Chinoiserie sterling silver teapot is 11 inches. And weighs 33 standard ounces. Interior clean as if little if ever used.
