Guangxu Chinese Jingdezhen Apple Green Glaze Baluster Vase. We believe vase is one of the brilliant monochromes fired at low temperature in the Jingdezhen kilns towards the end of the 19th century. The apple green glaze is achieved with the use of copper and lead oxides. The vase is of squat form, with a slender trumpet neck. The clear glaze is densely crackled, with a finer grain than earlier examples and their modern copies. Aside from the foot rim, the entire vase is covered with the green enamel and clear crackle-glaze.
