A pair of Chinese Incised. Cyclically dated to dingwei year, corresponding to 1847. The flat weights forming a quatre-lobed plaque when placed together, finely carved with a large shou character and a pine tree arcing across the face of a cliff, with five lines of inscription. The inscriptions on the weights may be translated as. He zuan xiang,'Old man He Dianxiang' huajia shou xiang,'... Shou bi nanshan bu laosong,'May you be as long-lived as a pine from Mount Zhongnan' ding wei chun zhongkai jingxian,'Cheerfully and respectfully presented on the second month of the spring of the ding wei year' - (1847). Studio mark on each base. Each: 15cm long and 5mm thick. The condition is fine, consistent with the estimated age and the material used.
